Tanahun District

The Tanahun district is derived from one Sanskrit word Tritung. Tritung means three mountains. It’s located in Gandaki Zone of western development region. It is situated among seven districts. It lies in the north direction of lamjung, n east direction of Gorkha and Makawanpur, in south direction of Nawalparasi and Palpa and west direction of Syangja and Kaski.

There are many religious places in this district like Aakala Chhabdi barahi, Dhorbarai, temrle ect. Here lies Davighat also where people go to bath in haribodhani aakadashi. It headquater is Damauli it lie in hilly region here lies many beautiful hill such as parasar parbet ets and river like magdi, Gandaki ECT. In it’s headquater also here are many historical and religious places.

The total area of Tanahun diatrict is 1546 square k.m. the population of this district is 268063 [male=127312 and female= 140761] There elastration area of this district 1 municipality, 46 v.d.c. are here.
